Edmund Schaedig

1919 - 2013

Edmund Erhardt “Bud” Schaedig, age 93,
died on March 29, 2013 in Auburn, Michigan

He was born October 15, 1919 in Ocqueoc
to Erhardt and Hulda (Glawe) Schaedig.

Bud is survived by:
his wife Dorothy;
daughter Nancy (James) Hahn of Midland;
sons Terry Schaedig of Lewiston, Montana and
Randy (Karen) Schaedig of Sanford;
four grandchildren; Greg (Susan) Hahn, Chris (Tia) Hahn, Nick Schaedig,
and Laura (Bret) Jost;
five great grandchildren, Paige Hahn, Adam Hahn, Tylla Hahn,
Connor Hahn, and Hunter Hahn.

He was preceded in death by:
his son Gerald;
brothers, Willard and Harold;
sister Christine Joppich, and
parents, Erhardt and Hulda.

Bud served his family, his community, and his country. As a young man,
he worked in the CCC camps in Raco, and later served in the Army
during WW II in France, Belgium and Great Britain. He was a talented
baseball player and participated in an exhibition baseball for the
Queen of England while stationed there. He and his family move to
Cedarville from Rogers City to help open up the limestone quarry.
After moving, he helped to convert an old schoolhouse into
Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. He often took care of the grounds, and
planted a pair of sugar maple trees at the church that are still there

Bud brought passion and grit to all that he did — he loved to fish, golf,
chase coyotes and follow the Tigers. His family and friends thank him
for sharing his zest for life.

Friends may visit at the Beck Funeral Home on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m.
through time of funeral at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Eric Voigt officiating.

Interment will take place at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the
Toni and Trish House, 4699 South Eleven Mile Road,
Auburn, Michigan 48611
in memory of Bud Schaedig.
