Eleanor Szott

Eleanor Mary Szott age 102 of Krakow Township passed away July 14, 2022 at Medilodge in Alpena with her son and daughter-in-law by her side.

She was born March 22, 1920 in Krakow Township to John and Victoria (Tybik) Wojtowicz.

Eleanor married Frank Szott on July 3, 1937 at St. Casimir Catholic Church where she was a life-long parishioner and devoted member of their Rosary Sodality. You could always find Eleanor on her maneuvers walking the halls praying her Rosary and doing word search puzzles. She leaves behind a long legacy of love for all who knew her. Her pride and joy were her family. She loved each and every one of them and was proud to let anyone she met know about them. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her as she touched many hearts during her amazing 102 years on this earth.

She is survived by her son, Bob (Judy) Szott of Grand Lake; three grandsons, Terry (Kelly) Szott of Hawks, Jason (Julie) Szott of Alpena and Kevin (Jessica) Szott of Alpena; six great grandchildren, Samantha, Rebecka, Sawyer, Reese, Kiera and Levi; and one sister, Sophie Andrzejewski.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; son, Dennis; five brothers, Walter, Frank, Ted, Louie and Edward; and three sisters, Clara Emke, Stella Ignaus and Helen Skierski.

Friends may visit at the Beck Funeral Home on Thursday, July 21^st from 4-8 p.m. where the Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Visitation will resume on Friday at St. Casimir Catholic Church from 10 a.m. until time of her Mass at 11 a.m. with Fr. Arthur Duchnowicz officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Memorials may be given to Eleanor’s family for a charity to be selected later.
