Harold Molzan

1922 - 2013

Rev. Harold G. Molzan, age 91, of Rogers City,
passed away December 7, 2013 at home.

He was born March 11, 1922 in Paterson, New Jersey
to Otto and Matilda (Fanslau) Molzan.

Harold received his early education at St. Paul Lutheran School in
Paterson, then graduated from Paterson Central High School. He worked
for 2 % years for the New York Life Insurance Company of
New York City.
He was convinced then, that the Lord desired him to enter the holy
ministry as a Lutheran Minister, On December 22, 1946 he married
Florence M. Krausel in Brooklyn, New York. In 1947 he graduated from
Concordia Theological Seminary in Springfield, Illinois. Harold was
ordained on July 6, 1947. His first congregation was St. Peter Lutheran
Church in Thawville, Illinois from 1947 – 1950, Subsequent
congregations were, Christ Lutheran Church in New Baltimore, Michigan
and St. Peter Lutheran Church in Fair Haven, Michigan from 1950-1954;
St. Michael Lutheran Church in Belknap from 1954-1958;
Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Saginaw from 1959-1966;
St. John Lutheran Church in Rogers City from 1966 until his retirement
in 1987. He served as Pastor at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Posen from
January of 1989 until July of 2007.
Pastor Molzan will be remembered as a devout Christian man who was
always ready with a smile and a wave.

He is survived by:
his son, John of Rogers City;
2 daughters, Melinda Bailey of Harbor Springs and
Pam (Harley) Schaedig of Ocqueoc;
6 grandchildren and
4 great grandchildren;
1 sister, Marilyn of Dumont, New Jersey.

Harold was preceded in death by:
his wife, Florence;
a daughter, Judith Ann;
a granddaughter, Nicole Faye; and
2 sisters, Anna Marie and Ruth.

Friends may visit at Beck Funeral Home on Friday from 2:00 until
8:00 p.m. where his grandson, Pastor Nathan Higgins will conduct
his funeral service at 7:00 p.m.

Interment will take place at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, next to his wife,
Florence and granddaughter, Nicole.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in memory of
Rev. Harold G. Molzan to a church of your choice,
St. John Radio Fund, or Hospice of the Sunrise Shore.
