John Robb

1921 - 2012

John “Jack” Robb, age 90, died peacefully
on March 17 in Rogers City, Michigan of natural causes.

Jack was born on April 19, 1921 in Ossincke Twp, Michigan
and was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Irene Koppert Robb.

He is survived by his wife of 19 years Leora (Peltz) Robb, sons, Neil (Melinda) Robb,
Stanley (Susan) Robb, Ronald Robb, step daughters, Donna Maini,
Cheryl (Mike) Smolinski, Cathy Idalski, and Bonnie (Don) Sweeso,
14 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.

Jack served his country proudly in WWII having enlisted in the Merchant Marines in
1942. He served on four ships and rose to the rank of Assistant Engineer after
completing Officers School. He received Combat Bars for service in the Pacific War
Zone, the Atlantic War Zone and the Mediterranean Middle East War Zone, all of
them multiple times.

Jack was a member of the Ann Arbor BPOE Elks for 65 years and received the
prestigious Elk of the year award in 1983. Jack earned his Master Plumbers License
and spent most of career as site superintendant for The Stanley Carter Company
specializing in construction of automobile manufacturing plants and missile defense
facilities.

A memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 31st at the
Beck Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Ryan officiating. Rogers City VF W Post 607
will offer a military tribute following services at the funeral home.

Memorials may be given to St. John Lutheran Church Radio Fund,
St. Michael Lutheran Church, St. Peter Lutheran Church or Hospice of Michigan
in memory of John Robb.
