Kathleen Gabara

Kathleen A. Gabara, age 63 of Rogers City,
passed away February 4, 2013 at Hospice House in Cheboygan.

She was bom March 26, 1949 in Lodi, Ohio
to William and Lenore (Edwards) Ellis.

Kathy was a Public Information Officer with the US Department of Agriculture.
On April 30, 1983 she married Simon Alwan in Peoria, Illinois.Hhe died on
April 1, 1985. Following the death of her first husband, Kathy helped write a book
entitled, The History of the Screwworm Eradication. In 1986 she received her
Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Michigan. On May 14, 1994
she married Joe Gabara in Rogers City.

Kathy is survived by:
her husband, Joe;
brother, Dr. John (Katherine) Ellis;
sister, Judith (William) Goldman;
stepson, Dan;
stepdaughter, Fay Ranville;
8 step grandchildren;
4 step great grandchildren.

A memorial service is set for 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 9th at
Peace Lutheran Church in Rogers City with Pastor J. Derek Riddle officiating.
