Marcia Denise Jankoviak, age 67 of Cheboygan passed away at home surrounded by her family on Sunday, October 8, 2023.

She was born in Cheboygan on June 15, 1956, to Clyde and Doris (Vincent) Barr.

Marcia spent the last year battling Acute Myeloid Leukemia.  She was blessed to have her sister Karen Percy be her Bone Marrow donor which allowed her to have a Bone Marrow Transplant on May 18, 2023 at the University of Michigan Hospital.  During the last year she has displayed immense strength, courage and determination throughout her cancer journey.  Marcia was a dedicated licensed daycare provider in Cheboygan for many years.  She was proud to have helped raise many children in the area.  Some of the things Marcia enjoyed were Cardinals, the Fourth of July, the Christmas Season, the Mackinac Bridge, Mackinac Island and gatherings at her home.  Everyone who has ever met her will forever miss her famous Chocolate Chip cookies.  Words that would describe Marcia would be generous, dedicated, and very loving.

She is survived by her children:  Lisa married to Matthew Sheridan from Raleigh, North Carolina, Mellisa married to Neil Bowman of Flushing, Nicholas married to Nancy Bostwick of Traverse City.  Marcia had 6 grandchildren; Madeline, Abigail, Jacob and Isabelle Sheridan, Arissa Presley and Eli Jankoviak.  Also surviving are her siblings;  Deborah Bridges of Missouri, Becky Fish, David Barr married to Janet, Linda Potter, Karen Percy, Brenda Halliday all of Cheboygan, Walter Barr married to Cindy of Munising and Thomas Barr married to Anays of Navarre, Florida;  and many nieces, nephews and daycare families.

Marcia was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Doris Barr.

Her celebration of life will take place at the Pier M-33 restaurant in Cheboygan on October 14^th from 1-3.  Please come by and share your memories with her family.
