Ted started in 1976 washing cars for a large funeral home north of Detroit. After graduating from Cypress Mortuary College in 1985, he received his national certification as a funeral director in June of 1985 and was licensed in California in 1987. After returning to Michigan, he was licensed as a Michigan funeral director in 1989. For six years, Ted managed a location of the largest family-owned funeral home organization in Michigan. On January 1, 1996, Ted and his wife Cheryl, along with their two daughters, Emily and Marijane, purchased what is now the Beck Funeral Home in Rogers City. Their dedication to comforting Christ centered service is recognized throughout Northern Michigan.
