Robert Rupp **Time Change
1940 - 2025Robert Francis Rupp age 85 of Grand Lake passed away peacefully on November 14, 2025 surrounded by his family.
He was born August 4, 1940, in Martins Ferry, Ohio to Charles and Elspeth (Stanton) Rupp.
Bob graduated from Grand Blanc High School and held the 1 mile track record for 7 years. On August 17, 1963, he married Bethany Bedore at Holy Family Catholic Church in Grand Blanc. He was an avid sportsman, and loyal Tiger’s Fan. Bob retired from General Motors in after 42 years of employment. For many years he and Beth spent their winters in Florida where he enjoyed playing beach croquet and walking the beaches with his “Queen B”. When not in Florida, he liked watching the birds and spending time at the home he built on Grand Lake with his grandchildren and family. He enjoyed spending time at the family hunting camp in the U.P.
Bob is survived by his wife of 62 years, Beth; four children, Paul (Deborah Sayers) Rupp of Alpena, Sheila Rupp of Presque Isle, Stephen (Linda) Rupp of Sanford and Julia (Scott) Sessions of Traverse City; five grandchildren, Kennedy Sessions, Audrey Sessions, Scott Sessions, Irelyn Rupp and Jessica Schmidt; siblings, Charles Rupp, Ann Long, Patrick (Lou) Rupp, Thomas (Barbara) Rupp, Suellen (Mike) Thomas, Michael (Paulette) Rupp and Nell (Loren) Bell; and many nieces and nephews.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Elspeth; siblings, Bill (Rita), Don (Barb), Jack (Doris), twin brother Richard (Marie), Judy and Nancy (Jack), sister-in-law, Mary and brother-in-law, Gerald Long.
Friends may visit at St. Ignatius Catholic Church on Thursday, November 20th from 11 a.m. through time of Mass at 12 – Noon. with Fr. Don Geyman officiating.
Interment will follow at Presque Isle Township Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Hospice Compassus.
Beth and family would like to thank the hospice team, including Megan, Gina, Rachael and Rev. Giovanna Meek for the loving care and support they provided Bob and his family.
