Van Cooper

William Van Cooper age 69 of Rogers City passed away at home surrounded by his family on August 5, 2025.

He was born in Atlanta, Georgia to William and Eudene (Owens) Cooper on August 30, 1955.

On May 4, 2002, he married Pamela Fuhrman-Walega in Snellville, Georgia. Van loved living in Northern Michigan where he enjoyed hunting and visiting with anyone who would talk with him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Pam; children, Christopher (Markie) Cooper, Nicholas Cooper, Rodney (Rochelle) Kania, Robert (Angie) Kania, Matthew Walega and Anthony Walega; three granddaughters, Chelsea, Emily and Hazel; and a sister, Vicki (John) Ragan.

Van was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Dene, and his in-laws, Walter and Germaine Fuhrman.

A private celebration of life will take place at a later date.

Memorials may be given to Hospice Compassus in memory of Van Cooper.
