Alfred Robillard
1923 - 2012Alfred Joseph Robillard age 88 of Cheboygan
passed away May 20, 2012 at Tendercare – Cheboygan
He was born July 12, 1923 in Detroit
to Eugene and Winifred (Gaynor) Robillard.
On June 14, 1947, Alfred married Wilma Hunt at St. Francis Catholic Church in
Alverno, Alfred entered the United States Army on March 13, 1943, serving his
country during World War II in the 738th Field Artillery in Northern France,
Rhineland, and Central Europe. He was honorably discharged as Private First Class
on December 28, 1945. Mr. Robillard retired from Link Industries where he worked
as a Machinist.
He enjoyed hunting, playing baseball with family and friends, playing Bingo,
watching the Tigers play ball, and spending time with his family, whom he treasured,
Alfred is survived by:
his five children; Sharon Striebich of Cheboygan,
Gary (Barb) Robillard of Traverse City,
Marlene Kenter of Cheboygan, Ronald Robillard of Cheboygan,
and Rosemary (Jeff) Walter of Cheboygan;
daughter-in-law, Gail Robillard of Litchfield;
sister, Shirley Pavwoski of Lansing;
8 grandchildren; David Stricbich, Mark Striebich, Jason Robillard,
Tami Oxley-Robillard, Christopher Kenter, Wendy Kenter,
Ronald Robillard, and Ashley Robillard;
10 great grandchildren; Austin Striebich, Chase Striebich, Brett Kenter, Kevin Kenter,
Faith Kenter, Reese Robillard, Ty Robillard, Keegan Oxley,
and Cooper Oxley.
Mr. Robillard was preceded in death by:
his wife of 60 years, Wilma;
son, Alfred Jr.;
daughter, Darlene;
parents, Eugene and Winifred; and
sister, Dorothy
Friends may visit at St. Mary Catholic Church in Cheboygan on Thursday, May 24th
from 10:00 a.m until time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Paul Megge officiating.
Cheboygan VFW will offer Military Honors during graveside services following
Mass.
Burial will take place at St. Francis Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the family of Alfred Robillard.
