Alice Arlt

Alice Esther Arlt age 94 of Hawks passed away July 18, 2021 at her daughter’s home.

She was born February 5, 1927 in Rogers City to Henry and Madaline (Mielke) Bey.

Alice graduated from Rogers City High School in 1944. On November 9, 1948 she married John Arlt. Alice enjoyed gardening, needle work, reading and caring for her cats, dogs and birds. Alice worked tended the family dairy farm and took care of the office work for the farm and Arlt’s Garage.

She is survived by six children, Beverly Arlt of Rogers City, Gene Arlt of Linden, Linda (Jerry) Smith of Millersburg, Rita (Gerard Shepke) Arlt of Hawks, Maria (John) Kay of Phoenix, Arizona and Mary (Vic) Skok of Cooks; six grandchildren, John (Amanda) Arlt, Alicia (Tyler) Small, William Arlt, Shana Irish, Katelyn DeKeyser and Kyle DeKeyser; four great grandchildren, Landon Small, Memphis Arlt, Lilly Small and Logan Small; and sister-in-law, Setsuko “Shorty” Bey.

Alice was preceded in death by her husband, John “Jack”; daughter, Ruth; parents, Henry and Madaline; and brothers, Harry (Beulah), Arthur (Geraldine), Russell (Magdalene) and Earl.

Friends may visit at the Beck Funeral Home on Thursday from 3-8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Visitation will resume on Friday at Faith Lutheran Church in Hawks from 10 a.m. until time of her funeral at
11 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Jack D. Ferguson officiating.

Burial will follow at Faith Lutheran Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to Faith Lutheran Church in memory of Alice Arlt.
