Alice Kandow

Alice Helen Kandow age 82 of Grand Lake
passed away March 7, 2015 at home.

She was born August 21, 1932 in Rogers City
to Francis and Helen (Losinski) Kowalski.

On December 30, 1953 she married her high school sweetheart,
Gerald Kandow at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, Mrs. Kandow was a
member of St. Casimir Catholic Church and its Rosary Sodality, the
Ladies Auxiliary of Posen VFW Post 7804, and Michigan Association of
Retired School Personnel (MASRP). Mrs. Kandow embraced a strong faith
in the Lord that she shared with her loving husband Gerald for 59 years.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, fishing, gardening, knitting,
crocheting, quilting and crafting.

Alice is survived by:
§ children, Noreen (Jimmie) Patterson of Swartz Creek,
Randal (Suzette) Kandow of Presque Isle,
Nancy (Doug) Gwinn of Flushing,
Timothy (Angelica) Kandow of Howell and
Todd Kandow of Manchester;
10 grandchildren;
1 step-granddaughter,
9 great grandchildren,
3 step-great grandchildren,
1 great-great granddaughter;
her mother, Helen;
2 sisters, Geraldine (Wilbur) Konwinski of Posen and
Marcia (Dave) Leach of Rogers City;
1 brother, Norman (Peggy) Kowalski of Rogers City; and
many loving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by :
her loving husband, Gerald;
her father, Francis and
brother, Robert.

Friends may gather at St. Casimir Catholic Church on Thursday,
March 12th from 10:00 a.m. through time of her Memorial Mass at
11:00 a.m. with Fr. Arthur Duchnowicz officiating. Posen VFW Ladies
Auxiliary will offer a tribute following Mass.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Hospice of Michigan or
the American Cancer Society in memory of Alice Kandow,
