Alice Kania
1932 - 2015Alice Theresa Kania, age 82 of Metz, Michigan
went to be with her Savior
on Tuesday, January 13, 2015,
Alice’s birth place was at her home in Metz on May 19, 1932.
She is the daughter of Clemens and Rose (Sytek) Centala.
Alice married Edward Kania on June 2, 1951. He preceded her in death
on September 9, 2011. After working briefly at the renowned polish
restaurant, Under the Eagle in Hamtramck, Michigan she came back to
Metz to marry the love of her life and raise her family. Mom worked for
St. Dominic’s Parish for many years as the housekeeper for the resident
priests. Mom gave her family one of her most valued traits and that is
seeing the beautiful, positive side of everything life presents, a lesson
she taught up to her very last day here on Earth. Alice loved having fresh
flowers inside and outside her home, she loved playing cards (as all
Centalas are known for), especially the game of spitzer, She was
humorous, a good counselor, and loved her children, grandchildren and
great grandchildren with her whole being.
She is survived by:
daughter Deborah (Bob King) Kania of Buckeye, AZ;
daughter Nancy (Danicl) Kandow of Metz;
son Edward Jr of Metz;
son Duane (Becky Holecheck) Kania of Rogers City;
son Marcel (Vija) Kania of Anchorage, AK; and
daughter Jessica (Ray) Claus of Hawks;
13 grandchildren;
14 great grandchildren and
special sister-in-law Emily (Centala) Wisniewski,
She was preceded in death by:
her parents, husband, one sister Blanche Malek; and
seven brothers, Steve, Alphonse, Florian, Leo, Benedict, Arthur and
Norman.
Visitation for Alice will be held at Beck Funeral Home on Friday,
January 16th from 3pm until 8pm with prayer service at 7:00 pm with
Sister Rita and Sister Mary conducting, Visitation will resume on
Saturday from 9am through time of mass at 10am at St. Dominic Catholic
Church in Metz,

or a charity of your choice.
