Aloysius Darga

1931 - 2013

Aloysius F. “Eli” Darga, age 82 of Posen,
passed away October 9, 2013 at Golden Beach Manor.

He was born January 23, 1931 in Rogers City.

Eli proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during the
Korean War. On May 21, 1955 he married Eileen Frances Klingshirn
at St. Casimir Catholic Church. He retired from Presque Isle Corporation
in the early 90’s. Mr. Darga was a member of St. Casimir Catholic Church,
4th Degree Fr. Narloch Assembly 1711 of the Knights of Columbus, and
the Posen VFW Post 7804.

Alis survived by:
his wife, Eileen;
4 children, Denyse (Leo) Romel of Hawks,
Audrey Darga (Tony) of Rogers City,
Ray (Marie) Darga of Wood Haven, and
Eric (April) Darga of Alpena;
13 grandchildren, Melissa (Todd) Romel-Geothal, Marie Romel,
Scott (Jennifer) Romel, Katherine Romel,
Julie (Nate) Bovay, Renee Darga,
Thomas (Darlene) Romel, Felicia (Don) Prisk,
Dorothy Romel, Cheryl Romel, Judy Romel,
Morghan Sekeres, and Alex Darga,
7 great grandchildren, Joshua, Grace, Madyson, Daniel John, Molly,
Ashlynn, and Landon;
son-in-law, Gene Libby;
sisters-in-law, Ruth Ann Konwinski, Janice Berant,
Marilyn Jane Klingshirn, and Beverly (Mike) Kuznicki.

He was preceded in death by:
his grandparents, Joe and Martha;
mother, Dorothy;
daughter, Lynn Libby;
half brother, Don Konwinski;
half sister, Blanche Kowalski-Centala;
special sister, Blanch Darga-Kurkerwicz;
nephews, Paul Centala, Kenny Kowalski, and Patrick Kuznicki;
brothers-in-law, Eugene Kowalski, Florian Centala, and Tom Berant; and
sister-in-law, Sharon.

Friends may visit at the Beck Funeral Home on Friday from 3:00 until
8:00 p.m. where the Posen VFW and 4th Degree Knights of Columbus

will lead the rosary at 6:30 followed by the parish wake service at 7:00 p.m.
Visitation will resume at St. Casimir Catholic Church on Saturday from
9:00 a.m. until time of Mass at 10:00 a.m. with Fr. Stan Bereda officiating.
Posen VFW will accord full military honors immediately following Mass.

Inurnment will take place at St. Casimir Catholic Cemetery.
