Alphonse Adamczyk

1924 - 2008

Alphonse R. Adameczyk age 84 of Posen
passed away April 15, 2008 at Tendercare – Alpena.

He was born January 24, 1924 in Posen to
Stanley and Kunegunda (Kulezyk) Adamczyk

Al graduated from Posen High School in 1942.
During World War II he worked in the defense plants in Detroit.

After the war he was a store manager for the United Shirt Company for 20 years.
He was employed by the City of Detroit for 15 years as a senior tax clerk until he
retired in 1984 and returned to Posen.

In his younger days, Mr. Adamezyk enjoyed fishing and travel visiting nearly all
48 states within the continental US. He was an avid sports enthusiast and enjoyed
the environment of watching the Detroit Red Wings at Olympia Stadium and the
Detroit Tigers at Briggs Stadium. Upon retirement, he spent much of his time
outdoors gardening and tending his many flowers, plants and shrubs. He enjoyed
dining at the Posen senior center and playing spitzer. In his quest for knowledge,
he took several classes and wrote insightful opinions to the Advance Editor. He was
both a reader and a prior choir member at St. Casimir.
He is survived by three generations of nieces and nephews

Al was preceded by:
7 brothers, Stanley, Frank, John, Walter, Jerry, Anthony, and Eugene
2 sisters, Marie Parker and Julia Klebba

Friends may visit at St. Casimir Catholic Church on Saturday, April 19, 2008
from 9:00 a.m. until time of mass at 10:00 a.m.

Interment will take place in St. Casimir Catholic Cemetery

Memorials may be given to Hospice of Michigan
