Amelia Deletzki
1919 - 2009Amelia “Amy” Emma Deletzki age 89 of Rogers City
passed away August 21, 2009 at Cheboygan Hospice House
She was born September 6, 1919 in Belknap Township
to August and Anna (Glomski) Dehring
Amy was raised in Rogers City with four sisters and one brother. She was a nanny
for two years in Harbor Springs and Grosse Point, Michigan. She was employed by
the Sisters of Mercy for six years. Amy left her employment to be married to
Arthur M., Deletzki. They were married at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in
Rogers City on February 23, 1946. After she married, Amy attended
Southeastern High School in the evenings to obtain her G.E.D. They lived in
Detroit until 1960 when they moved to Rogers City where they owned and
operated the Rogers City Motel for 12 years. After retiring, Amy enjoyed extensive
travel with her husband, Arthur. Amy was a member of St. Ignatius Church, the
St. Ignatius Rosary Society, Group 2 (the ladies played cards at their meeting), an
entrepreneurial historical group, and was an avid volunteer for the
Rogers City Hospital, St. Ignatius Church and School. As a homemaker, Amy
enjoyed sewing, crafts, and collecting antiques.

her parents,
husband, Arthur, and
sisters, Marsella, Emma, Alma, and Theresa.
She will be missed by brother, Louis (Janet) Dehring and her nieces and nephews
Friends may visit at St. Ignatius Catholic Church on Tuesday, August 25th from
10:00 a.m. until time of mass at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Arthur Duchnowicz officiating.
Interment will take place in Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery
