Annette Housey
1938 - 2021Annette Housey age of 82 of Florida and Rogers City, passed away peacefully at home in Florida surrounded by family on September 13, 2021.
She was born October 29, 1938 in Rogers City to Joseph L. and Cecelia (Dehring) Smigelski.
Annette was the mother of two children, Christine Housey, and Annette (Timothy Ott) Housey Shapiro; Through her daughters, Annette is survived by seven grandchildren, Stefne (Jason Paige) McGinnis, Ryan (Jillian) McGinnis, Sidney (Dustin) Smith, Kendal (Peter Ferency) Krause, Thomas Krause, Theodore (Mariah) Krause and Ivan (Lorena Geilen) Shapiro; and nine great-grandchildren, J.R. “Anquan”, Adeline, Mila, Joseph, Leyla, Rian, Charlotte, Camila and Easton; and special friend, Kimberly Ferguson; all of whom loved her to no end.
She was predeceased by her husband.
Some of Annette’s favorite things included gardening, listening to music, learning to play chess, reading, hanging out with her dog George, and watching British television programs. For many in the neighborhood, Annette served as a mother figure and a trusted community member. In simple terms, her maternal love and care were boundless and her charm inimitable. Annette instilled admirable core values in her family. Annette lived an honest and noble life inspired by her great faith in God. Her resilience and selflessness were remarkable, and with it, she motivated all of those she touched and held dear. Annette exuded an admirable and contagious sort of love, generously sharing her wisdom. For a woman persevered through so much adversity, she was always full of life and light, remaining present and positive until her last moment. Annette was a loving wife, friend, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Friends may visit at the Beck Funeral Home on Saturday, August 27th from 12:30 through time of her memorial service at 1:00 p.m. Family will receive friends at the residence at 469 South Lake Street following her memorial service.
