Anthony Konwinski

1941 - 2015

Anthony Walter “Tony” Konwinski age 73 of Posen
passed away Friday, April 24 at his hunting camp
of an apparent heart attack.

He was born December 23, 1941 in Alpena
to Frank and Theodosia (Lewandowski) Konwinski.,

Tony graduated from Posen High School in 1960. He worked at Vince’s
Sunoco in Posen through his high school years. On August 28, 1965 he
married Joyce Robarge at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Rogers City,
Tony was a member of IBEW Local 692 for 39 years and retired as a
Journeyman Electrician, He took care of the speaker system for the Posen
Potato Festival for 45 years, and often tested the “broadcast distance”
with music from Del Shannon, Tony was an avid fisherman and hunter
with 27 bucks and 10 bears to his credit. A drive past his house during
football season and you would quickly notice that he was a huge Packer
Backer.

Mr. Konwinski is survived by:
his loving wife of almost 50 years, Joyce;
4 children, Sheila (Geoff) Rettig of Midland,
Michelle Konwinski of Presque Isle,
Tony Konwinski Jr. of Presque Isle and
Greg Konwinski of Alpena;
2 grandsons, Andrew Rettig and John Rettig;
1 brother, Arthur (Elaine) Konwinski of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; and
sister-in-law, Marie Konwinski of Alpena.

He was preceded in death by:
his parents, Frank and Daisy;
3 brothers, Norbert, Tom and Frank;
sister and brother-in-law, Evelyn and Al Momrik.

Friends may visit at the Beck Funeral Home on Monday from 3:00 until
8:00 p.m. with parish wake service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will resume at
St. Casimir Catholic Church on Tuesday from 10;00 a.m. through time of
Mass at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Arthur Duchnowicz officiating.

Memorials may be given to St. Casimir Church
in memory of Tony Konwinski.
