Arthur Budnik

1928 - 2022

Arthur Harry Budnik age 94 of Posen passed away unexpectedly at home on November 2, 2022.

He was born July 2, 1928 in Rogers City to Frank and Emily (Kapalla) Budnik.

Arthur is survived by six children, Ann (Mark) Bruski, Chris Gryniewicz, Cyndi Bruski, Robert (Jen) Budnik, Kathy (Pat) Hubert and Norm (Kim) Budnik; 16 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; a brother, Marvin (Evelyn); a sister, Carol (Gerald) Kalkman a; a sister-in-law, Kathy Budnik.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret “Marge”; parents, Frank and Emily; brothers Arnold and Michael.

On June 24, 1950 he married Margaret Polaski at St. Casimir Catholic Church in Posen. He worked at Abitibi – Price for 34 years, retiring as a journeyman electrician in 1990. Art played in a Polka Band and sang in the church choir for many years. Art was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He and Marge volunteered at all of the Posen Potato Festivals. They had a great love for helping in the community. He was a great story teller and very proud of his heritage and family name and could tell many tales about them. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and sailing while spending time with family at the Grand Lake Cottage which he built. He also enjoyed waterskiing which he did for the last time on his 80th birthday.

Friends may visit at the Beck Funeral Home on Monday, November 7th from 4-8 p.m. where the Knights of Columbus will recite the Rosary at 6:30 followed by the Parish Wake Service at 7 p.m. Visitation will resume on Tuesday at St. Casimir Catholic Church from 10 a.m. until time of his Mass at 11 a.m. with Fr. Arthur Duchnowicz officiating.

Burial will take place at St. Casimir Catholic Cemetery at a later date.

Memorials may be given to St. Casimir Catholic Church.
