Elizabeth “Betty” Valentin

1937 - 2021

It is with great sadness that the family of Elizabeth (Betty) Valentin announce her passing after a brief illness, on Friday, March 5, 2021 at the age of 84.

Betty Valentin will be forever remembered for her love of family, faith in the Lord, a smile and a sense of humor that would brighten any room. She retired from Walmart in 2020 after 29 years, at the age of 83. Her life is one we should strive to live. She was and will forever be loved.

She was born January 30, 1937 in Rogers City, Michigan and was the daughter of the late Alfred Jacob and Anna Teresa (Grochowski) Klingshirn. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers Charles Klingshirn and Donald Klingshirn.

She is  survived by her children:
Joseph Valentin of Grayling, MI; Jonathan (Karen) Valentin of Slocomb, Alabama; James Valentin of Linden, Virginia; Jeffrey (Stephanie) Valentin of Houston, Texas; Jerrold (Tammy) Valentin of Destin, Florida; Joanne (George) Sobeck of Rogers City, Michigan; Jeanne (Kevin) Miller of Wilmington, NC as well as 14 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

She is survived by her brother James (Nancy) Klingshirn of Rogers City, Michigan as well as sisters Barbara (Gary) Lamb of Rogers City, MI and Mary (Mike) Witulski of Rogers City, MI as well as Sister in law Jane (Donald) Klingshirn of Charlotte, Michigan. She was blessed with many nieces and nephews as well.

Friends may visit at the Beck Funeral Home on Thursday, August 5th, from 1 p.m. through time of her memorial service at 2 p.m. with Deacon Scott Landane officiating.

Inurnment will take place at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
