Carl Pilarski

1924 - 2012

Carl Floyd Pilarski age 88 of Rogers City
passed away peacefully with his family by his side
on October 5, 2012 at Hospice House in Cheboygan.

He was born June 22, 1924 in Rogers City
to George and Agnes (Gapcezynski) Pilarski

Carl served his country during WWII as a Tec. 4 in the Merrill’s Marauders,
3rd Battalion, Headquarters Company, 475th infantry. Carl received several
decorations and citations including the Bronze Star. He was a life-time member of
the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Blanche Smolinski and Carl were united in marriage on May 1, 1948, Carl retired
from Calcite in 1986. He was an avid golfer, fisherman, and hunter. He especially
enjoyed traveling throughout United States with his loving wife in their retirement
years. Blanche passed away in 2005.

He is survived by:
his son George Pilarski,
his daughter Ann (Randy) Schultz,
granddaughter Jamie (Chris) Moore,
grandson Ryan (Jennifer) Schultz,
great-granddaughter Samantha Moore, and
great-grandson Elliott Moore.

Carl was preceded in death by:
great-grandson Tyler Moore,
sisters Helen, Marge, and Lucille,
brothers Barney, Harry, and Eli.

Friends may visit at St. Ignatius Catholic Church on Saturday, November 10th from
9:00 a.m. until time of Mass at 10:00 a.m. with Fr. Arthur Duchnowicz officiating.
Rogers City VFW will accord military honors following Mass.

Burial will take place at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to Hospice House of Cheboygan,
Hospice of the Sunrise Shore, or St. Ignatius Catholic School.
