Carlyle Blosdale
1923 - 2019Carlyle A. Blosdale age 96 of Rogers Township
passed away at home on March 20, 2019.
He was born January 3, 1923 in Reading, Michigan
to Carlyle and Gladys (Hakes) Blosdale.
On June 11, 1947 he married Ruth Kripko in Farmington. Carl was a
combat infantry soldier during World War II, stationed in Europe from
the Battle of the Bulge till the end of the war, after which he completed
college using the GI bill to gain a teacher’s certificate. As a reserve, he
was called up during the Korean War and served stateside as LT. tank
commander, He was a member of the Lake City American Legion Post 300
and a life member of the Rogers City VFW Post 607.
Carl is survived by:
a nephew, Robert (Josic) Durham of Blanchard;
six great nieces and nephews, Cassandra (Brad) Paradise of Holt,
Ann (Mike) Hall of Lansing, Joseph Durham of Blanchard,
Jonny Durham of Grand Rapids, Emily Durham of Camp Pendleton and
Jennifer Durham of Fowlerville; and several close friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth on December 21, 2012
A memorial service will take place at Hilltop Manor in Rogers City on
Sunday, March 24th at 2 p.m. with Pastor David Rogers officiating.
Rogers City VFW Post 607 will accord military honors immediately
following.
