Cecilia Bunner

1925 - 2016

Cecilia D. Bunner age 90 of Rogers City
passed away peacefully on May 4, 2016
while surrounded by her loving family.

She was born September 15, 1925 in Rogers City
to Frank and Frances (Hincka) Durecki,

Cecilia “Ceil” graduated from Rogers City High School in 1944. On
March 27, 1954 she married Ervin A. Bunner in the Catholic Chapel at
Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indiana. She served as a Staff Sergeant in the
United States Women’s Army Corps from 1952 through 1955, She and
Ervin raised their family in Rogers City in the house they built, She
was a faithful member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church and its Rosary

Society,Ceil enjoyed spending time at the Rogers CityArea Senior Center.
She enjoyed picking strawberries and wild mushrooms, bird watching,
playing bingo, solitaire, word search puzzles and going for car rides,

especially to Seagull Point, Ceil retired as a cook from the Rogers City
Hospital in the late 80s. Her great grandchildren will remember the
dance parties they had with her at Rogers City Tendercare.,

Ceil is survived by 3 children, Cindy (Rod) Bellmore of Rogers City,
Dale (Margaret “Aria” Norman) Bunner of Chicago
and Hannah (Alan) Jones of Chattanooga, Tennessee;
6 grandchildren, Matthew (Autumn) Bellmore, Theresa Timrick,
Hannah (John) Palmer, Samuel J. N. Bunner,
Patrick (Elizabeth) Jones, Molly (Derek Hilley) Jones
and Abby Altman;
4 great grandchildren, Lily Palmer, Kenadie Timrick, Cole Bellmore
and Tucker Bellmore;
brother, Leo (Sally) Durecki.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Frances Durecki;
husband, Ervin A. Bunner on May 6,1974;
siblings, Helen McLean, Harry Durecki, Wally Durecki and Fran Lenard;
grandson, Benjamin Bellmore,

Friends may visit at the Beck Funeral Home on Friday from 4:00 until
8:00 p.m. where the rosary will be recited at 6:30 followed by a
prayer service at 7:00. Visitation will resume at St. Ignatius
Catholic Church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until time of Mass at
10:00 a.m, with Fr, Peter Eke officiating.

Rogers City VFW Post 607 will offer a military tribute following Mass.
Interment will take place at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to Rogers City Area Senior Center
or Hospice of Michigan,
