Charlottie Poole
1951 - 2015Charlottie Leila “Sheri” Poole, 63, of Indian River,
peacefully passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at
McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey.
She was born October 14, 1951 in Detroit
to Chester and Leila (Syer) Zabik.
Sheri married Gary Poole in 1976 in Taylor where they lived until moving
to Indian River in the early 1980’s, In 2013 she moved into the Evergreen
Living Center in St. Ignace where she called home until her passing.
During her life, Sheri made many friends, was a “mother to many” and
worked as a home health worker for a time caring for elderly and home
bound residents, During her stay at Evergreen she was often talking,
sharing, hugging or laughing with a lonely resident, Sheri enjoyed
spending time with her grandchildren, playing bingo, shopping,
chocolate shakes and the occasional casino outing.
Sheri is survived by:
her daughters, Shawnia (Jason) Parrott of Indian River, and
Jenny (Mitch) Welch of Lansing;
three brothers, Dan (Chris) Zabik of Lincoln Park,
James (Trish) Zabik of Ypsilanti, and
Timothy (Elizabeth) Zabik of Mackinaw City;
two sisters, Pam (Bill) Nowaske of Trenton,
Shawnia (Ken) Brewer of Dearborn Heights;
Sister-in-law, Kristie Zabik (brother Michael deceased);
three grandchildren, Shianne Parrott, Jeremiah Parrot, and Nicholas Stone;
one great grandchild, Kinsley Riethmeier, and
several nieces and nephews,
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Gary and
brother Michael Zabik.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, July 27, 2015, at 11:00 a.m.
at the Church of the Straits in Mackinaw City with family receiving
guests beginning at 10:00 a.m. A small luncheon will follow the service.
