Clara Adamczyk
1926 - 2013Clara B. Adamezyk, 87 of Posen
passed away peacefully surrounded by family
December 13, 2013, at Rogers City Tendercare.
She was born June 9, 1926 at home in Posen Michigan
to Petr and Phyllis (Swiederski) Rozmyslowicz.
Clara was one of eleven children raised on the family farm, She attended
St. Casimir Catholic School through the 8th grade and later moved
to Detroit where she worked in the war effort during WWII. While in
Detroit she met another Posenite, Eugene Adamczyk, who became the
love of her life. They married in Posen in 1949, lived in Detroit, and
returned to settle permanently in Posen in 1957,
In her younger years, Clara energetically hosted weddings, served on the
Posen Board of Canvassers, was a Cub Scout leader, and for many years
was a volunteer for the Posen Potato Festival. Clara was a member of the
Posen Ladies Rosary Sodality and a lifetime member of the Veterans of
Foreign Wars (VFW), Ladies Auxiliary, Post 8794, Upon retirement, she
enjoyed people watching while sitting in her rocking chair.
Clara is survived by:
three children, Eugene (Lynne) Adamczyk, of DeWitt,
Gerard (Theresa) Adamczyk of Oconomowoc, WI., and
Mary Adamezyk of Rogers City,
six grandchildren,
six great grandchildren, and
three sisters Eleanore, Mary, and Dorothy.
She was proceeded in death by:
her husband of 55 years, Eugene, as well as
seven siblings, Walter, Ann, Joseph, Julie, Josephine, Edward, and
Anthony.
Friends may visit at St. Casimir Catholic Church on Tuesday,
December 17th from 10:00 a.m. through time of Mass at 11:00 a.m.
with Fr. Arthur Duchnowicz officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in memory of Clara to
the Posen VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Post 8074, 7518 M-65, Posen, MI 49776
