Rey. Clifford P. Brege age 85 of Moltke Township
passed away December 31, 2009 at home

He was born May 4, 1924 in Rogers City
to Paul C. and Theresa E. (Schaedig) Brege

Clifford was baptized on June 8, 1924 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Moltke, and
was confirmed there on April 10, 1938 by the Rev. H. Heinecke. He graduated from
the Moltke Townhall School, District 3, in 1939 and graduated from

Rogers City High School in 1943, then sailed on the Great Lakes for 1 year. In 1945
Clifford entered Concordia Theological Seminary in Springfield, Illinios. He
Vicared at Emmaus Lutheran Church in Denver from 1949 – 1950 and was a
Missionary Vicar in Niigata, Japan from 1950 – 1953, then graduated from
Concordia in 1954. He was ordained on July 25, 1954 in Adams, Wisconsin and
was installed as Pastor at Immanuel in Adams, St. John in Quincy, and Redeemer in
Dellwood. Pastor Brege was installed on May 22, 1960 at Trinity in Bessemer, MI,
Messiah in Marenisco, MI, and Bethany in Presque Isle, Wisconsin. On

August 10, 1968 he married Allie Irene Ahonen Jarvi. On June 4, 1970 he was
installed at Immanucl in Frankentrost (Saginaw), Michigan. Pastor Brege was the
Circuit Counselor for the North Wisconsin District, LC-MS from 1961 – 1970. He
retired on August 11, 1989, and moved to the family farm in Moltke.

Rey. Brege is survived by:
his wife, Allic;
3 step-daughters, Paula Jarvi, Marj (Murrell) Rafferty, and Vern (Robert) Hoyt;
2 step-grandchildren, Elisabeth (Greg) Kline and Jonathan (Bethany) Hoyt;
4 brothers, Myron, Archie (Deanna), Ron (Norma), and Darwin;
sister, Ida Mae Morley and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by:
his parents, Paul and Theresa;
brother, Clayton,
brother-in-law, Ronald Morley
sisters-in-law, Evelyn and Barbara.

Friends may visit the Beck Funeral Home on Sunday from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. with
a prayer service at 7:00 p.m.. Visitation will resume Immanuel Lutheran Church on
Monday from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Eric Voigt
officiating.

Interment will take place at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery

Memorials may be given to Immanuel Lutheran Church in memory of
Reverend Clifford P. Brege.
