Craig McElmurry

Craig Dean McElmurry age 80 of Grand Lake passed away peacefully at home on August 30, 2023.

He was born August 24, 1943 in Detroit to Vern and Elayne (Berg) McElmurry.

Craig is survived by his wife of 61 years, Roberta “Bobbie”; son, Robert (Kathy) McElmurry; four grandsons, Robbie (Sarah) McElmurry, Riley (fianc’ee, Heather) McElmurry, Ryan (friend, Emily) McElmurry and Brendan McElmurry; two great grandsons, Emmett and Robbie; his sister, Shannon Andrzejewski; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a son, Eric McElmurry on June 3, 2020.

Craig graduated from Rogers City High School in 1962. Following his retirement in 2004  from DPI after 41 years of employment, he was able to spend more time enjoying life on Grand Lake and watching University of Michigan football games and catching a few more Detrit Tiger games on television.

A celebration of life for Craig and his son Eric will be announced in the spring of 2024.
