Daniel Darga

Daniel Edward Darga age 71 of Rogers City passed away January 19, 2025 at McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey.

He was born in Rogers City to Daniel and Dorothy (Russell) Darga on July 15, 1953.

Dan moved to Missouri, Texas and Florida working as an electronic engineer for McDonald Douglas and Sperry Corporation, he moved back to Michigan to help with and eventually take over Darga Forest Products. He enjoyed playing cards, especially cribbage. Dan was extremely talented at crocheting, his family and friends loved and couldn’t wait to receive one of his specially made items. You could always tell when he was in a room, he had a voice that wasn’t quiet :).

He is survived by two daughters, Renee Darga and Felicia (Kevin) Kociba: two grandchildren, Daniel and Molly Kociba (they were his favorite people); special, helpful, and caring friend, Judy Harrell; four sisters, Karen (Gary) Lee, Theresa McClung, Kathy (Bill) Ethier and Debra (Dennis) Spens; several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews, and a boatload of cousins.

Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy and Daniel Darga; his brother: George Darga; and a brother-in-law, Danny McClung.

He loved his family more than anything.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
