Daniel McLaughlin

Daniel B. McLaughlin was 92 years old
when he passed away on May 2, 2015,
at Rogers City Tendercare,

He was born June 19, 1922, in Detroit, Michigan
to Daniel M. McLaughlin and Effa (Abair) McLaughlin.

While serving in the Army, he was posted to Seattle, Washington where he
met and married Marian Delores Butterworth to whom he was married for
70 years until her death March 7, 2014.

He is survived by his son Daniel B. Leraul (Clo Leraul) of Concord,
California, and two grandsons, Daniel Jacob Leraul (Soraya Manzor Rivas)
of Davis, California, and Daniel Bret Leraul of Los Angles, California.

His daughter, Claudia Lee Hill, died in 1991,

After leaving the Army, Mr. McLaughlin completed his Bachelors and
Master Degrees in Education at Wayne State University, After several
years teaching primary school in Dearborn, he moved with his family to
Rogers City where he is widely remembered for teaching high school
economics and history from the mid 1950s through the mid 1970s. He also
taught driver’s education. After retiring early from teaching, he pursued a
lifelong passion for model railroad trains, He supplied models, kits, tools,
and supplies to model railroaders throughout the United States and many
other countries, He was also an enthusiast and collector of 1930s classic
cars (Buick and Packard). During the late 1980s and early 1990s,
Mr. McLaughlin used his experience in education to serve on the Rogers
City School Board. He was active in the local chapter of Masons.

Friends may visit at the Calvary Bible Church in Rogers City on Friday,
June Sth from 10:00 a.m, through time of memorial service at 11:00 a.m.
Rogers City VFW Post 607 will accord military honors at church
immediately following his memorial service.

Interment has taken place at Grand Lawn Cemetery in Detroit.
