David Schley
1950 - 2023David Wayne Schley, 73, of Cheboygan passed away November 16, 2023.

David graduated from Cheboygan Catholic High in 1970 and was married to Rebecca (Elliott) Schley for 40 years, starting July 9, 1983.
David was an amazing father, grandfather and husband that loved his family unconditionally. He also loved to hunt and fish and spend time in the woods. He was always on the search for “Bullwinkle.” He spent most of his career in the fish processing industry, as a result he could fillet a fish faster than you could blink an eye. His favorite thing to do was spend time with his family, which included visiting with his many brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and cousins, never missing sporting events, and spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. However, he made sure to let them all know that he is “The Champion of the Schley House!”
He is survived by his 4 children, Jason (Jaime Madeya) Schley, Joleen (Louie) Kennedy, Donnie (Jenny) Schley, Benny (Mallory) Schley, grandchildren, Aubrey, Avery, Zach, Isaiah, Gabe, Ellie, Teagan, Nathan, Parker, Elliott, Miles and great grandchildren Kylee, Mykal and Lucas.
He is proceeded in death by siblings Eenie (Mike) Mankin, Joseph (Ruth) Schley, Judy VanParis, Butch Schley, Jerry Schley, Bill (Pat) Schley, Mickey Woiderski, and brother-in-laws Jim Simmons, Dick Rauch and Harold Boyea.
He is also survived by his siblings Helen Boyea, Jane (Bob) Boyea, Don (Marlene) Schley, Lee (Landa) Schley, Lois Simmons, Ginny Rauch, Cathy (Robert) Scarbrough, Mitch (Barb) Schley and brother-in-laws Jim Paris and Todd Woiderski, and sister-in-laws Mary Schley and Sheryl Schley.
There will be a celebration of life at Northshore Community Church (617 Palmyra St, Cheboygan, MI) on Monday November 20 th from 5-8pm. Family will say a prayer and say a few words starting at 5pm with food to follow.
For all the people that were blessed enough to know him, knew he was sure to tell them that he “was glad you got to see him” that day.
