Donald Williamson
1926 - 2014Donald E. Williamson age 88 of Port Angeles, Washington,
formerly of Rogers City, passed away August 8, 2014
at McLaren Northern Michigan.
He was born the seventh of eight children
to Frank Powell and Bertha Beatrice (Ray) Williamson on
April 19, 1926 in Denver, Colorado.
Don was a 1949 graduate from the University of Denver with a B.S. in
Commercial Engineering, On June 29, 1951 he married Donna Hancock
in Las Vegas, Nevada. After 32 years as an engineer with U.S. Steel he
retired from the Rogers City plant. Following his retirement in 1985 he
and Donna served as missionaries in Mississippi for the Church of
Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as well as many other callings within
the church, Mr. Williamson was very active in Boy Scouts for over
50 years; he received the Silver Beaver Award and started Troop 6 in
Rogers City. Don enjoyed golfing, skiing, camping, hiking, salmon
fishing, fixing things “putzing”, and spending time with family and
friends,
Don is survived by:
3 children, Debra (Jeffry) Millett of Port Angeles, Washington,
Wayne (Jeanne Clougher) Williamson of Seffner, Florida, and
Gena (Allan) Jeffery of Mountain Home, Idaho;
15 grandchildren and
5 great grandchildren
He was preceded in death by
his wife Donna on January 28, 2000 and
daughter, Lori Kicliszewski on January 4, 1994; and
all 7 of his siblings.
Graveside services will take place at Memorial Park Cemetery in
Rogers City on Friday, August 22, 2014 at 2:00 p.m.
