Dorothy Mae Neumann, age 77 of Rogers City,
passed away peacefully at home on April 26, 2010.

to James and Dorothy (Schooley) Howick a
After her marriage to Arthur “Jim” Neumann on July 28, 1950 in Rockville, MD,
she stayed at home to raise their six children. In 1967 she and Jim moved to
Rogers City and purchased the TNT Bar. After selling the business in 1978, she
stayed busy bartending and managing the Pinewood Tavern for 20 years. After
retiring, she was a senior companion for 13 years. Dorothy enjoyed spending time
at home cooking and playing scrabble and had an ability to remember everyone’s

Arthur James “Jim” Neumann Sr. age 81 of Rogers City
passed away peacefully at home on May 2, 2010
following a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s.
Jim was born November 24, 1928 in Alpena
to Arthur A, and Esther (Werner) Neumann
After high school, Jim sailed on the L.P. Schoellkopf until he joined the Army on
July 28, 1948. He served during the Korean War and was honorably discharged on
June 13, 1952. He was employed by his brother in law, Howard Male, as a tractor
mechanic, then took a job with Baker Sheet Metal of Alpena where he proudly
welded and fabricated components for the building of the Mackinac Bridge. In
1967 he and Dorothy purchased the TNT bar. After its sale in 1978, Jim was
employed by the Rogers City Country Club during its construction. After retiring,
he enjoyed golfing, fishing, gardening, and playing pool. He also loved to race his
VW, “Yellow Tweety Bird”, at the Onaway Speedway.
Jim is survived by:
3 sisters, Esther (Howard) Male, Edith (Robert) Scott, and
Mable (Darwin) Mausloff; and
a brother, William (Gloria).
He was preceded in death by:
3 sisters, Elsie Cousineau, Ernestine Mausloff, and Ruth Withun.
Both Dorothy and Jim are survived by:
5 children, Susan, Mark (Debbie), Cindy all of West Branch,
Gus and Amy Neumann both of Rogers City;
15 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren
They were preceded in death by a son, Dennis in 2005.
Friends may gather at St. Michael Lutheran Church in Belknap on
Saturday, May 22nd from 2:00 p.m. through time of their memorial service at
3:00 p.m. with Pastor Paul Hopkins officiating. Rogers City VFW will accord
military honors for Mr. Neumann following the church service.
