Dorothy Smart

Dorothy J. Smart age 82 of Grand Lake
passed away September 1, 2008 at home.

She was born July 18,1926 in Rogers City
to Emil and Clara (Pankowski) Plath

On November 4, 1944 she married Russell Smart at
St. Ignatius Catholic Church. Dorothy worked as a LPN at Rogers City
Hospital and Extended Care until her retirement.

She is survived by:
5 children,
Rusty (Gene) Higgins of St. Johns,
Steve (Lynn) of Sterling Heights,
George (Joan) of Zeeland,
Scott (Laura) of Portales, NM, and
Claire (Bob) Kowalski of South Lake, TX
10 grandchildren,
Heidi Mapes, Lori LaGalo, Sarah Smart, Jennifer Smart, Russell Smart,
Alana Smart, Audrey Smart, Zach Kowalski, Nick Kowalski, and
Brenden Kowalski
5 great grandchildren
2 sisters,
Gertrude Beltz and
Virginia “Alice” Pines
1 brother,
Emil “Moe” (Helen) Plath

Preceded in death by:
husband, Russell
infant son, Michael
sister, Helen Jackson

Fr. Charles Donajkowski will conduct her memorial service at the
Beck Funeral Home on Saturday, September 6th at 11:00 a.m.. Friends
may gather | hour prior to service.

Inurnment will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery
