Edward Mierzwinski

Edward C. Mierzwinski age 78 of Rogers City passed away peacefully at home on November 21, 2019.

He was born July 2, 1941 in Hamtramck to Edward and Regina (Marcinkowski) Mierzwinski.

Ed served in the United States Army, he retired as a First Sergeant in1985. On February 14, 2007 he married Mary Jane Yarch-Malone at St. Ignatius Catholic Church. Ed was a member of the 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus, St. Ignatius Catholic Church and served as an usher.

Ed is survived by his wife, Mary Jane; son, Michael (Sabrina) Mierzwinski; daughter, Basia Mierzwinski; two grandchildren, Hiero and Thea; two step children, Tony Malone and Cathy (Tom) Erfurdt; two step grandchildren, Kelly and Kristy Erfurdt; and three sisters, Maria Kilmer, Lisa (Keith) Higgins, and Veronica (Tom) Valik.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Regina; his first wife, Nellie; and his sister, Heddy Mierzwinski.

Friends may visit at the Beck Funeral Home on Monday, November 25th from 4-8 where the 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus will lead the rosary at 6:30 followed by the parish wake service at 7 p.m. Visitation will resume on Tuesday at St. Ignatius Catholic Church from 9 a.m. through time of his Mass at 10 a.m. with Fr. Rolando Silva officiating. Rogers City VFW Post 607 will offer a military tribute at church immediately following Mass.

Interment will take place at the Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Angel Fund at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in memory of Edward Mierzwinski.
