Edwin Schultz

1922 - 2010

Edwin M. Schultz age 87 of Hilltop Manor in Rogers City
passed away March 13, 2010 surrounded by
his loving family at Tendercare of Rogers City

He was born October 1, 1922 in Belknap Township
to Julius H. and Wilhelmina (Schalk) Schultz

Ed served in the United States Army during World War II and was stationed in
Germany. On July 12, 1952, he and Betty Brege were united in marriage at
Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Onaway, with Rev. Charles Boerger officiating.
Edwin, in partnership with his brother, Melvin, owned and operated a
Party Store – Gas Station in Onaway for several years in the fifties. Mr. Schultz
retired from U.S. Steel Calcite Plant in 1987 after 21 years as a Millwright. He
was an avid fisherman and hunter, and especially enjoyed fishing for steclhead
on the Ocqueoc. He most enjoyed playing cards with his family and friends.

Edwin is survived by:
4 children, Marilyn (Lanny) Sawdon of Kimball, Peggy (Karl) Zampich of Moltke,
Randall (Ann) Schultz of Grand Lake, and
Rae (Joe) LaLonde of Rogers City;
12 grandchildren;
15 great grandchildren;
brother, Barney (Edna) Schultz;
son in law, Don A. Schaedig;
sister in law, Alice Schultz.

Mr. Schultz was preceded in death by:
his wife, Betty on August 8, 1989;
daughter, Lorri Schaedig on January 21, 2009;
2 great grandchildren, Tia Rae and Tyler;
5 brothers, Erhardt (Lisetta), Amold, Alfred (Mabel), Melvin, and Marvin;
5 sisters, Dora (Paul) Hopp, Adeline (Walter) Brown, Johanna (Ivan) Trafelet, Elna |

Pastor John Schreiber will conduct his memorial service at
St. John Lutheran Church on Saturday, May 29, 2010 at 11:00 a.m.

Inurnment will take place at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to St. John Lutheran Church or a charity of your choice.
