Eileen Holowaty
1942 - 2021Eileen Anne Holowaty age 79 of Presque Isle County passed away at her home on October 3rd, 2021. She was surrounded by her loving family and a precious caregiver friend of hers. She was held until her last breath. During her time of passing, she was able to have soothing familiar music played and also live acoustic guitar Beatle songs played. She had battled with Alzheimer’s for at least a decade and during that time she lived a full and exciting life. Always happy, smiling, kind, generous and loved to dance.
Eileen was born in Sept 1942 in Blackpool, England to William and Agnes Maskell. She was born during a dark period of war time. Being born during this difficult time in history helped shape her into teaching valuable life lessons to her family. She was the second youngest of 7 children. She spent many summers with her family picking hops. It was extra money the family needed and she always viewed it like a fun/working camping trip. She graduated 8th grade in 1957 from Fairmead County Secondary School and began working at the Bank of England at 15 years old in the printery. While at the Bank of England, she would often perform in the live entertainment shows they held for their employees, singing and dancing, a talent show of sorts. She also performed in several talent shows during her life in America. Discovering America- She had a sister-in-law that had married an American and she decided to visit them in the Detroit Area. She ended up loving America and she and her first husband decided to stay. In 1971 she married her second husband Robert Holowaty and gained a new daughter Lisa. She went on to have an additional 4 more children with Robert. Over the years she would still travel back and forth with her children visiting her family in England. In August 1993 she moved up north to the Grand Lake area with her husband and two youngest children. She was known in her community for her volunteering and spreading messages of hope and future good news to come. She loved her Creator and wanted others to learn about him too. She was always ready to lend a hand and was considerate of other people’s needs. She was known for her landscaping skills, knitting skills, love of music, and dancing. She also showed amazing hospitality to her family and friends at her home downstate and up north at the lake over the years. Her smile was infectious and inviting, and she had a wonderful sense of humor, always looking at the bright side of things. She truly loved life! Even though her memory faded due to her illness, she never lost that emotional connection to those she held dear. She was able to spend her remaining years with her daughter Sarah and Sarah’s family. Her son in law, Joe and grandchildren, Noah and Ruby were a part of her everyday life.
Eileen was preceded in death by her two parents, William and Agnes Maskell, her husband Robert, two brothers Harry and Danny, and an infant grandson Baby Boy Addison.
