Elizabeth Roberts

Elizabeth Rose Roberts age 72 of Cheboygan passed away peacefully at home on January 7, 2025.

She was born on Mackinac Island to John and Elizabeth (Cadotte) Gallagher on September 18, 1952.

Following graduation from Mackinac Island High School in 1970 (the first graduating class on the island, a class of 7), she moved to California where she met the love of her life, Dewitt. After spending over a decade out west she eventually moved back to Michigan to be closer to her family. She and Dewitt enjoyed traveling yearly to visit as much family as possible all across the United States.  In her spare time she enjoyed  shopping, trips to the casino and cooking. She always prepared a meal where nobody left hungry. She kept a clean house and made it a priority that everyone had what they needed.

She leaves behind three sons, Patrick (Cassandra) Wandrie , Jason (Carmin) Wandrie, Wesley (Emma) Wandrie and one grandson, Abram Wandrie; and two sisters, Nancy Ryba and Becky Green.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, DeWitt Roberts; father, John “J.K.” Gallagher; mother, Elizabeth “Betty” Gallagher and brother, Johnny Ray.

A service will take place on Mackinac Island and will be announced in the spring.
