Emil Zeglevski

1925 - 2017

Emil Legner Zeglevski, age 92, of Metz,
passed away March 29, 2017 at Rogers City Tendercare.

He was born February 14, 1925 in Detroit, MI
to Emil and Alma Zeglevski.

Emil attended Rogers City High School. He played Hawaiian guitar in a
local Polka Band with close friends. Emil joined the United States Army
in April of 1945 and served in the Asiatic Pacific Theater, Occupation
Forces Japan, where he obtained the rank of Corporal (TEC 5), He was
Honorably Discharged in December 1946. Thereafter, Emil went to work
for General Motors in Flint, MI. He met and married Iva M, Erkfitz in
April of 1953, and they divorced in 1960, Emil remarried Nancy L. Bauer
on September 18, 1965. He retired from General Motors after 32 years, in
1987, He enjoyed playing Spitzer, Solitaire, and doing daily Jumble and
crossword puzzles. He also loved working in his vegetable garden.

He is survived by:
five children: Michael (Susan) of Brighton, E. Joseph (Julie) of Fenton,
Daniel (Violet) of Winder, GA, Greta of Metz, and
Karl of Posen;
six grandchildren: Joshua (Rachel) of Fenton, Justin of Flint,
Andrew (Shannon) of Jefferson, GA,
Benjamin (Maggie) of Winder, GA, Sara of Brighton,
Danielle of Oscoda; and
eight great grandchildren.

Emil was preceded in death by his wife Nancy on January 4, 2014.

Friends may visit at the Beck Funeral Home on Friday from 5:00 until
8:00 p.m. where the Posen VFW Post 7804 will accord military honors at
6:30 p.m. Visitation will resume on Saturday at St. Peter Lutheran Church
in Metz from 10:00 a.m. through time of funeral at 11:00 a.m. with
Pastor Jeff Ryan officiating,

Interment will follow at the St, Peter Lutheran Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to St. Peter Lutheran Church
in memory of Emil L Zeglevski.
