Eugene Hilla
1926 - 2010Eugene J. Hilla age 83 of Belleview, Florida formerly of Rogers City
passed away February 1, 2010 in Florida
He was born October 9, 1926 in Rogers City
to Louis and Veronica (Urban) Hilla
Eugene served in the United States Navy during WWII as a Seabea. He was
owner/operator of a Texaco gas station, Rogers City Oil Company and Petgas
Service in Rogers City. He was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church in
Belleview and Rogers City VFW and Servicemen’s Club.
Mr. Hilla is survived by:
wife of 58 years, Leona;
4 daughters, Judith Hilla of Grand Rapids, Marcia (David) Smolinski of Posen,
Nancy Bushart of Flint, and Bonnie (Michael) Ruggles of Petoskey;
3 sons, Thomas (Laura) of Rogers City, Steven of Rogers City, and
Timothy of Wyoming;
19 grandchildren;
11 great grandchildren;
brother, Arthur (Virginia) of Rogers City;
sister, Louise (Richard) Kuznicki of Millersburg.
He was preceded in death by:
parents, Louis and Veronica;
2 sons, Eugene Jr. and Kenneth
Friends may visit St. Casimir Catholic Church on Friday, June 25th from 9:30 a.m.
through time of his memorial mass at 10:00 a.m.. Rogers City VFW Post 607 will
accord military honors at St. Casimir Cemetery following mass.
