Florence May Miller age 82 of Rogers City
passed away November 23, 2010 at home with her family by her side.
She was born August 19, 1928 in Washington D.C. to
John and Adelena (Leverone) Herrell.
On April 29, 1950 Florence May Herrell married William Miller at
St. Peter Catholic Church in Washington D.C. Mrs. Miller was a devoted member of
St. Ignatius Catholic Church, its choir and the Daughters of Isabella. She loved
playing cards with her friends every week for more than 40 years, and enjoyed doing
volunteer work at Seconds on Third (Shelter Inc.).
She was a loving mother of:
5 children, Gloria (Tom) Adrian of Rogers City, Bill Miller of Newaygo,
Diane (Jim) Coughlin of Traverse City,
Mike (Kelly) Miller of Tumwater, Washington, and
Lisa (Al) Krey of Alpena;
10 great grandchildren;
special friend, Leo Pilarski;
brother, Bernard (Betty) Herrell;
2 sisters, Jean (Charles) McFall and Shirley (William) Taylor.
Florence was preceded in death by:
husband, William on December 14, 1995,
5 brothers, Raymond, Jack, Henry, Walter, and George;
2 sisters, Millie Maginnas and Emma Martone.
Friends may visit at the Beck Funeral Home on Friday from 3:00 until 8:00 p.m.
where the Daughters of Isabella will recite the rosary at 6:30 followed by the parish
wake service at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at
St. Ignatius Catholic Church by Fr. Arthur Duchnowicz at 10:00 a.m. Saturday.
Interment will take place at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to St. Ignatius Catholic School or Hospice of Michigan
in memory of Florence Miller.
