Florence Urlaub
1912 - 2008Florence L. Urlaub age 95 of Hawks passed away
July 3, 2008 at Tendercare Health Center
of Rogers City.
She was born October 16, 1912 in Hawks
to Emil and Pauline (Papke) Claus
On July 28, 1931, Florence married Roy Urlaub
at Hope Lutheran Church in Hawks. She was a
homemaker and worked in the family sawmill
for many years side-by-side with her husband.
In 2000, Roy and Florence served as the
Grand Marshalls for the Hawks Spring Fling.
She was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church
(Ocqueoc) and an active member of the Ladies Circle.
She was dearly loved by her children, their spouses and
all of her family.
She is survived by:
5 sons,
Loren (Bonnie) of Alpena,
Jerry (Nancy) of Rogers City,
Lowell of Hawks,
Roger (Pauline) of Alpena, and
Bill (Marion) of Alpena
1 daughter,
Joy Salatino of Gainesville, Florida
19 grandchildren
35 great grandchildren
5 great, great grandchildren
2 brothers,
Marvin (Betty) of Rogers City, and
Elmer (Grace) of Rogers City
1 sister,
Pat Brege of Hawks
She was preceded in death by:
husband, Roy, in 2000,
1 son, Carlton, and
9 brothers and sisters
Friends may visit at the Beck Funeral Home on Saturday from 3 – 8
with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m.. Visitation will resume on
Sunday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Ocqueoc, from 1 p.m. until
time of funeral at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Waldemar Gies officiating.
Interment will take place in Hope Lutheran Cemetery, Hawks
Memorials may be given to Trinity Lutheran Church or a
charity of your choice.
