Frances Lenard

Frances (Fran) Marie Lenard, 81 passed away peacefully
with family by her side on March 12, 2016,

Frances was born May 6, 1934
to Frank and Frances Durecki.

Frances graduated from Rogers City High School in 1952. She attended
County Normal in Onaway and received her Bachelor’s degree from
Central Michigan University. On August 10, 1957 Fran married

Rapheal (Ray) Lenard at St. Ignatius Church in Rogers City, Frances was
a school teacher for 38 years, She started her teaching career at

St. Casimir’s in Posen in 1953, then St. Ignatius in Rogers City and
Posen Consolidated School, retiring in 1991,

Fran and Ray, along with family and friends, enjoyed traveling to about
40 states including many of the Western States, Mammoth Caves in
Kentucky (first time on their honeymoon and later on a family trip). Her
summer vacations were camping and traveling to see the good old USA
and she started every family vacation with a family prayer for safe
travels.After retirement Fran and Ray enjoyed traveling to the East
Coast, Florida, Hawaii, a cruise thru the Panama Canal, a cruise to
Alaska, Las Vegas and many trips to Texas to visit their son.

Frances was an active member of the Daughters of Isabella, of which she
was named daughter of the year in 2010. She also was a member of the
St Ignatius Rosary Society and served as president for a time. Fran
enjoyed volunteering at the Rogers City Tender care for many years.

Frances is survived by:
her husband Ray, and
her children, Monica (Bill) Hoffman, Kathleen (Dean) Krey,
Joe (Ann) Lenard, Rich (Linda) Lenard, and
Bernadette Lenard and husband Ken.
Nine grandchildren, Michael (Erin) Krey, AJ Krey, Isaac Krey,
Amanda Lenard, Nathan Lenard, Kayla Lenard,
Samantha Lenard, John Lenard and Hannah Lenard.
Her siblings, Cecilia Bunner, and Leo Durecki, and
her father-in-law John Leonard.

Frances is preceded in death by:
her parents, Frank and Frances Durecki,
her siblings Helen McLean, Harry Durecki, Wally Durecki and
her mother-in-law Stella Leonard.

Friends may visit at the Beck Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 15th from
3:00 p.m, until 8:00 p.m, with the rosary recited at 6:30 followed by the
parish wake service at 7:00 p.m, Visitation will resume at St. Ignatius
Catholic Church on Wednesday, March 16th from 9:00 a.m. through time
of Mass at 10:00 a.m. with Fr, Sylvestre Obwaka officiating.

Interment will take place at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery in the spring.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Daughters of Isabella,
The Rosary Society or St, Ignatius School.
