Frances Rye

Frances H. Rye age 87 of Moltke Township
passed away July 13, 2009 at home

She was born March 26, 1922 in Long Island, New York
to Henry and Katherine (Holmes) Halsted

Frances married Robert Rye in Bombay India in 1941. Mr. & Mrs. Rye moved from
Ft. Wayne, IN to Rogers City in 1968 and started the Rye Agency. They also ran the
Rye Hereford Farm in Moltke Township. Frances was a member of St. Ignatius
Catholic Church and was a Regent for the Daughters of Isabella Margaret Mary Circle
974 and a member of the Pastoral Council for many years. Mrs. Rye was a founding
member of the Rogers City Zonta Club and active in the local business community.
She was also active in 4-H as a club leader.

Mrs. Rye is survived by:
7 children,
Mary (Don) Ratajezak of TN, Robert Jr. of WA, John (Belinda) of FL,
Kathy (Steve) Dalton of IN, Teresa (William) Luetzow of Marquette,
Cindy (Mike) Myers of Rogers City, and Amy (Tom) Kane of Lachine;
20 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren;
3 brothers, Henry of WI, John of VT, and Tyler (Ruth) of Australia

She was preceded in death by:
husband, Robert,
daughter, Edith

Friends may visit at the Beck Funeral Home on Wednesday July 15th from 4:00 until
8:00 p.m. where the rosary will be recited at 6:30 followed by the parish wake service
at 7:00 p.m.. Visitation will resume on Thursday at St. Ignatius Catholic Church from
10:00 a.m. until time of mass at 11:00 a.m.

Inurnment will take place in Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery on Saturday, August 22,
2009, at 2:00 p.m., with Sr. Rita Epple officiating.
