Frank Budnik
1925 - 2018Frank A, Budnik passed away on August 2, 2018
at Medilodge in Rogers City, Michigan.
Born in Posen on August 8, 1925, the oldest son of
Julius and Theresa (Kieliszewski) Budnik.
Frank attended St. Ignatius and Rogers City Schools, and graduated from
Cass Technical High School in Detroit. He served as a medic in the
US Nav during World War II, On May 21, 1949. Frank was married
to Marjorie J, Lewandowski, in Posen. They made
their home in Detroit and started their family, and
he was employed by Chrysler Corporation. The
family returned to Posen in 1960. Frank was
employed by Huron Oil Company, In 1966 he
returned to work for Chrysler, where he worked
until his retirement in 1987, commuting the long
distance between Detroit and Posen cach week.
After retirement, Frank served as a Posen
Township Trustee and on the Calcite Credit Union
Board for many years. He was a member of the
Knight of Columbus 4th Degree, Council 6657, Frank loved being with
his family and his many friends. He was an avid pinochle player, a great
dancer, and a creative cook,
Frank is survived by:
6 children, Gregory (Bonnie) of Grosse Pointe Woods,
Susan (Douglas) Houseworth of Alanson,
Jeffrey (Marchelle) of Madison Heights,
Cary (Lisa) of Temperance, Philip (Michelle) of Presque Isle,
Eric of Oxford, and daughter-in-law Brenda of Berkley;
13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren
Also surviving are siblings Eleanore Dehring, Leonard Budnik,
Julian Budnick, Gerald Budnick, Margaret Vogler, James Budnick and
William Budnick.
Frank was preceded in death by:
Marjorie, his wife of 66 years,
son, Donald (Brenda),
daughter-in-law, Toni (Eric),
his parents,
brothers Raymond and Richard Budnick, and Alec Smith (Cary and Lisa),
Friends may visit at the Beck Funeral Home on Monday, August 6th from
4-8 pm where the Knights of Columbus and the Posen VFW will recite
rosary will at 6:30 followed by the parish wake service at 7 pm,
Visitation will resume on Tuesday at St. Casimir Catholic Church from
10 am until time of Mass at 11. Posen VFW will accord military honors
at St. Casimir Catholic Cemetery immediately following Mass
