Fredrick Augsburger

1930 - 2020

Fredrick Arthur Augsburger age 90 of Rogers City passed away Saturday, May 16, 2020 at Medilodge in Rogers City.

Fred was born May 1, 1930 in Mikado to Walter and Marie (Fechtner) Augsburger.

He moved to Belknap as a young boy and grew up on the family farm until he enlisted in the United States Navy following World War II. On November 7, 1953 he married Juliana Wyant at St. John Lutheran Church. He retired as a Loader from Calcite. Fred enjoyed watching the freighters, camping and traveling with his family. He collected Lionel Trains and model airplanes. Fred will be remembered as the man who could fix any small engine.

Fred is survived by three sons, Paul and Carol of Brighton, Wayne and Cora, and Karl of Rogers City; seven grandchildren, Stacie (Steve) Papineau, Matthew (Ashley) Augsburger, Aaron (Christy) Augsburger, Teyla, Andrew, Adam, and Luke Augsburger; three great grandchildren, Ella and Alexander Papineau and Lily Augsburger; two sisters, Nancy Sabol of Grass Lake and Ruth Farrar of Alpena.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Juliana; parents, Walter and Marie; brother, Edward and a sister, Ruby Klee.

Friends may visit at the Beck Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 20 th from 1 p.m. through time of his funeral at 2 p.m.  Pastor J. Derek Riddle will conduct a graveside service at 3 pm followed by military honors accorded by the  Rogers City VFW Post 607 at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to St. John Lutheran Church Radio Fund or Hospice of Michigan.
