George Heinzel

George Francis Heinzel age 75 of Grand Lake passed away unexpectedly at home on December 17, 2025.

He was born in Alpena on August 13, 1950 to Charles and Theresa (Rygwelski) Heinzel.

He graduated from Rogers City High School in 1969. George was a mechanic for Cliff Anschuetz Chevrolet for many years and then retired from Triple M Tire in Rogers City. He was a big hearted guy who would help anyone in their time of need.

George is survived by his wife, Sierra; son, Joshua Suszek; granddaughter, Kyla Suszek; and siblings, Gerald (Theresa) Heinzel of Rogers City, Gregory (Dawn) Heinzel of Rogers City, Louellen (Phillip) Jozwiak of Rogers City and Karen (Gordon) Altman of Gaylord.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Theresa; and a son, Kyle Suszek.

A celebration of his life will take place in the spring of 2026.

Memorials may be given to George’s family for a charity to be selected later.
