George Hoadley, Jr.
1947 - 2009George William Hoadley Jr. age 61 of Huron Beach
passed away March 23, 2009 at home
He was born September 1, 1947 in Big Rapids
to George and Marion (Rice) Hoadley
George graduated from Henry Ford High School in Detroit. Upon graduation in
1965, he enlisted in the army, served two tours of duty in Vietnam and later joined
the Army Reserves. George was an industrious man and always put his heart into
the work he did. He was incredibly proud of his steel processing business which he
had for over a decade. He also worked as the final line supervisor at the Michigan
Truck Plant at Ford Motor Company. He retired from there in 2005. After
retirement George enjoyed a part-time job as Harbor Master at the Hammond Bay
Rescue Harbor. He found such joy listening to all the boaters tell of their travels.
He is survived by:
wife, Deborah
son, Jason (Monica) of New York
3 granddaughters, Madeleine, Lydia, and Tallulah
sister, Judi (Mike) McLean
A memorial service will take place at Oakland Church of Christ in Southfield on
Saturday, March 28th at 4:00 p.m.. Family will receive guests from 2:00 until
4:00 p.m..
On Saturday, May 16th, Pastor Waldemar Gies will conduct a memorial service at
Trinity Lutheran Church in Ocqueoc at 11:00 a.m. Family will receive guests from
10:00 a.m.
Inurnment and military honors will take place at Arlington National Cemetery on
Friday, June 12th at 9:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given the Pancreatic Cancer Foundation or
the Hoadley family.
