Gerald G. Bruning age 75 of Rogers Township
passed away January 23, 2009 at home
He was born December 20, 1933 in Rogers Township to
Paul and Nelda (Tulgestke) Bruning
Gerald served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict, when he
returned home he married Rosalie Ohlrich at St. John Lutheran Church in
Hagensville on October 13, 1956. Mr. Bruning retired from Calcite as a heavy
equipment operator in 1995, He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, and a
life member of Rogers City V.F.W. Post #607 and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and
farming with his family.
Mr. Bruning is survived by:
2 children, Scott & Shelley of Millersburg and Robin & Jay Schmidt of Long Lake
5 grandchildren, Tyler, Taylor, and Alyssa Bruning and Travis and Shelby Schmidt
step-mother, Bernice Bruning
4 sisters, Evelyn Woodrich, Faye & Neil Lamb, Eunice & Jim Brainard,
and Debra Mahawald
brother, Steven Bruning
brother in law, Frank Burns
sister in law, Ida Mae Bruning
He was preceded in death by:

Friends may visit at the Beck Funeral Home on Sunday January 25th From 3:00 until
8:00 p.m. with a veterans tribute at 6:45 followed by a prayer service at 7:00 p.m..
Visitation will resume on Monday at St. John Lutheran Church in Rogers City from
10:00 a.m. until time of funeral at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor John Schreiber officiating.
Rogers City V.F.W. Post #607 will accord full military honors following the funeral.
Interment will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to St. John Lutheran Church, Hospice of the Sunrise Shore,
or a charity of your choice in memory of Gerald Bruning.
