Gerald Urlaub

Gerald Lloyd Urlaub age 80 of Rogers City passed away October 10, 2019 at home.

He was born October 6, 1939 in Hawks to LeRoy and Florence (Claus) Urlaub.

Gerald graduated from Rogers City High School in 1957. He served 3 years in the Army, attending the Guided Missile School. Gerald married Nancy Klee on October 21, 1961 at St. John Lutheran Church. He was a welder at Calcite for 30 years, retiring in 1995. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family at his cabin in the woods.

He is survived by his wife of almost 58 years, Nancy; daughter, Lori (John) Cox of Kingsford; son, John (Katrina) Urlaub of Presque Isle; two granddaughters, Theresa (Paul) Meyers of Virginia and Katie (Matt) Stelmaszek of Texas; three great grandchildren, Eliza Meyers, Leo Meyers, and Alexis Stelmaszek; and his siblings, Bill (Marian) Urlaub, Royal “Roger” (Pauline) Urlaub, Joy Salintino, Lowell Urlaub, and Loren (Bonnie) Urlaub.

He was preceded in death by his parents, LeRoy and Florence.

Friends may visit at the Beck Funeral Home on Sunday, October 13th, from 4-8 pm where a prayer service will take place at 7 pm. Visitation will resume on Monday at St. John Lutheran Church from 10 am until time of his funeral at 11 a.m. with Pastor Phillip Phifer officiating.

Interment will take place at Bismarck Township Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to St. John Lutheran Church or School or Friends Together in memory of Gerald Urlaub.
