Gerald Zimmer

Gerald E. Zimmer age 83 of Rogers City
passed away October 12, 2008 at Tendercare
Health Center of Rogers City

He was born November 17, 1924 in St. Clair, Michigan
to Louis and Florence (Wuest) Zimmer

Gerald served in the United States Navy during World War II, then returned
and served | year during Desert Storm as a Chief. He retired as a Chief
Engineer for the Inter Lakes Steamship Co. as after 43 years of service.
Mr. Zimmer owned the Nautical Cab Company since 1985.

He was a 3rd degree life member of the Knights of Columbus, life member
of the V.F.W. Post #607, American Legion Charles J. Fulton Post #382,
International Ship Master’s Association, Serviceman’s Club, Golden Agers
and the Rogers City Country Club.

Mr. Zimmer is survived by:
Wife, Betty
9 children,
Bonnie & Steve Krasnuik of Midland, John & Sharon of Marine City,
Ron of Port Huron, Connie & Rick Duchane of Marine City,
Yvonne & Jay Lynch of Marine City, Don & Donna of Sterling Hgts.,
Mark & Tina of Port Huron, Rob Wojtaszek of Rogers City, and
Lynn & David Altman of Rogers City

He was preceded by:
1 brother and
5 sisters

Friends may visit at the Beck Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2:00 until
8:00 p.m. with Rosary at 6:30 followed by V.F.W. Tribute at 6:50 and
Parish Wake Service at 7:00 p.m.. Visitation will resume at St. Ignatius
Catholic Church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass at
11:00 a.m..
Rogers City V.F.W. will accord full Military Honors following Mass.

Inurnment will take place in Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery
